This one was a real challenge - steep grade, tons of snow load to consider, and the clients wanted floor-to-ceiling glass everywhere. Took us six months just to nail down the foundation strategy, but man, was it worth it.
We used local stone for the base to keep it grounded, then let the upper levels float with steel and glass. The whole thing plays with light differently depending on the season - that's intentional, not a happy accident.

Perched on a 35-degree slope with eagles literally nesting nearby. The clients were hardcore about sustainability - we're talking net-zero aspirations and a strict no-harm policy for the surrounding ecosystem.
Ended up cantilevering most of the living space to minimize ground disturbance. The whole structure basically floats, which sounds insane but makes perfect sense when you're trying to preserve mature trees and natural drainage patterns.

The clients had just downsized from a massive property and wanted something that felt spacious without all the square footage. Glass walls everywhere was the answer - brings the forest right into your living room.
We oriented everything to catch south light but used smart overhangs so it doesn't turn into a greenhouse in summer. Also worked in some killer cross-ventilation because air conditioning felt wrong for the vibe they wanted.

Big family, bigger expectations. They wanted that classic mountain lodge feel but with all the modern stuff - basically Aspen meets Silicon Valley. Took forever to source the right stone, but it's all from a quarry about 40 clicks away.
The main challenge was scale - making 5,000+ sq ft feel cozy isn't easy. We broke it up into pods connected by glass hallways, so each space has its own personality while still feeling connected to the whole.

Young couple, first big build. The lot was basically vertical - like, you could barely stand on it. But that meant crazy views and nobody building in front of 'em anytime soon.
We stepped the whole house down the slope in three levels. Each floor gets its own outdoor space, which was huge for them since they've got two big dogs who needed room to run around without falling off a cliff.
